Frequently asked
What does it cost me?
The European Solidarity Corps covers your travel (up to the amount for your distance band), accommodation, food, pocket money and insurance (health, accident, liability, travel, personal injury and legal assistance). Not covered: Aruba's small visitor entry fee, which you pay with the online ED card before you fly.
How long are the calls?
Call 1 runs about a month (mid-November to mid-December 2026), Call 2 runs 6 to 12 months from early January 2027, and Call 3 runs 3 weeks around Art Week Aruba in September 2027.
How many hours will I work?
Between 30 and 38 hours a week, including training and language learning, with two days off in a row every week and two holiday days a month.
What will I do?
That depends on the call. A year at ArtisA means joining all our projects: the galleries, MiSO, Art-X-Plosion, workshops and the festivals. See the Projects and Open calls pages for details.
Where will I live?
At Casa Arena, the shared ECHO volunteer house on the main street of San Nicolas, a short walk from the galleries.
Who supports me?
A mentor, our ESC coordinator, training before you leave and on arrival, Online Language Support, and a Youthpass at the end.
Which languages do I need?
English and Spanish are spoken everywhere in Aruba, next to Papiamento and Dutch. The European Solidarity Corps also gives you Online Language Support.
I am 21. Can I apply?
You must be between 22 and 30 on the day your call starts. If you turn 22 before then, you can register now.
What will your echo be?
Pick a call, send your application and we will meet you online.
